He obtained his dental education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School and received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After four years of dental school, Dr. Caldwell decided to pursue a residency in periodontics and was accepted into one of the top-ranked periodontal programs in the nation, The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Graduate Periodontics Program. During his three-year residency, he obtained formal training in periodontology, implantology and moderate IV conscious sedation. He graduated with a Master of Science from the School of Biomedical Science and a Certificate in Periodontics. Dr. Caldwell completed his master's thesis research on ridge augmentation techniques, titled "Alveolar Ridge Augmentation using Tenting Screws, Acellular Dermal Matrix and Combination Particulate Grafts: A Prospective Study." Dr. Caldwell has completed both the surgical and prosthetics courses at the renown Misch International Implant Institutue.
Dr. Caldwell is a certified in the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST). The Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST) is a patented scalpel-free, suture-free procedure for correcting gum recession using a minimally invasive technique. Through a needle-sized hole, Dr. Caldwell uses specially designed instruments to gently loosen the gum tissue and slide it over the receded part of the tooth. Since there is no cutting or stitching, patients can expect minimal post-operative symptoms (pain, swelling and bleeding). Most patients also are pleasantly surprised by the instant cosmetic improvement.
Dr. Gregory Caldwell is committed to delivering the best, most advanced care possible for his patients. His periodontal practice involves a full spectrum of periodontal therapy, periodontal plastic surgery, bone grafting, dental implant site preparation, dental implants, and IV conscious sedation. His goal is to provide his patients with the most comfortable and stress-free dental experience. When you meet Dr. Gregory Caldwell, you will soon find that he genuinely cares for the welfare of his patients. His patients are treated with integrity, kindness, and receive the highest quality of care.
When not practicing periodontics, Dr. Gregory Caldwell enjoys fly-fishing, skiing, golf, tennis, traveling, and spending time with his family.
